How cool is the New Mexico chili plate?

Went to 3 MVD locations and 2 insurers before getting temp insurance from home. so progress, but not of the open road kind. In good news the car runs better than it looks. (a little ratty, but runs like a dream).

I’m pretty excited to be moving to NM and getting cool plates (back only, woohoo!) to replace my boring TX ones.

I’ve got a blue plate and a balloon plate in my collection. Get a chili plate they’re super cool.

Santa Fe is still much cheaper than any east or west coast state. You’ll be able to find reasonable housing as long as it’s not some place “historic”.

I think I’m just spoiled with what I have now. My current house is worth around $250k. To get something equivalent I’m going to have to spend basically $400k.

Property values have jumped in the last five years, for sure. I sold my house in 14 for like 185 and it’s probably be worth 250 now. Check out the 87507/87508 zips if you’re staying in the city limits and want something affordable-ish, but inventory everywhere is limited right now.

Thanks. I’m actually going to be in a neighboring county (I’ll let you fill in the blank) where inventory appears to be even more limited. It looks like things have spiked since 2014 there as well - perhaps even worse. I’m hoping to rent until it loosens up a bit, but finding a rental is going to be a pain too. There look to be more rentals in Santa Fe, but that would be a commute I don’t want.
